Luna De Mol

Luna De Mol is a Belgian violinist who has already established herself as one of the most distinguished musicians of her generation. She is sought-after as both a soloist and a chamber musician.
As a soloist, Luna won the Dutch National Violin Competition in 2018, and was previously winner and laureate of several other competitions such as the VLAMO competition 2012, the Breughel Concours 2014, and the International Grumiaux Concours in 2016.
Her playing has been broadcast on international radio and television many times, including performances on France Musique, BBC Radio 3, Deutschlandradio, Bayerische Rundfunk, Dutch Concert Radio, Podium Witteman, Podium Klassiek and Podium Extra. Most recently she was a featured New Generation Artist on Belgium National Radio, poducing regular recordings and broadcast content for the network.
In 2023 and 2024, she was a fellow at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, under the artistic direction of Miriam Fried and Midori. She was also recently in residence at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad and attended IMS Prussia Cove.
Luna started her violin studies with Fedra Coppens. At the age of 12, she joined the class of the late Prof. Coosje Wijzenbeek at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. During this time she joined and later lead the internationally acclaimed ensemble "Fancy Fiddlers" and studied as a bursary student at the Internationale Musikakademie in Liechtenstein. She was accepted to the class of David Takeno to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she completed her studies with the "Chairman's Prize" for highest graduating marks across the whole institution. In addition to modern violin, Luna also studied baroque violin with Pavlo Beznosiuk and classical improvisation with David Dolan.
